The State We're In
Radio Netherlands Worldwide, the Dutch international public broadcasting service, and WAMU 88.5, American University's public radio station in Washington, D.C., will partner to produce The State We're In, a new weekly radio program covering human rights around the globe.
Taking the broadest view of human rights, The State We're In will inform, analyze, and discuss the issues without making moral judgments. The show will be the authority on human rights for public radio, covering events large and small that matter to listeners; stories that illuminate both human tragedies and successes around the world.
While it is not intended to be a primary source of hard news, the program will add contextual value to the news. It will engage its audience by evoking a personal response to human stories. It will show that our actions, and the way we treat each other, connect us all.
