Live Wire Radio
Live Wire is a one-hour weekly radio variety show recorded in front of a live audience. It’s music, it’s conversation, it’s sketch comedy. It’s the show that dared to put tap dancing, juggling and ballet on the radio. Live Wire highlights the best musicians and most fascinating writers, poets, dignitaries, artists we can find in the even more beautiful pacific northwest.
Patrick DeWitt - Wikipedia says he's Canadian, but he lives around here now which just goes to show you the power of redemption. He is the screenwriter of Terri starring John C. Reilly and author of the novel not starring John C. Reilly, but maybe they'll make it into a movie and John C. Reilly will be in it. We'll ask him who he thinks John should play.
Martha Grover - The essayist has been publishing her zine Somnambulist for eight years. Her first collection, One More for the People, was one of the Portland Mercury's best books of 2011.
Musical guest Michael Hurley - Is one of the last great rambling songwriters, marvel as he rambles on stage, plays some songs he wrote, and then vanishes in a puff of stage smoke like some mystical minstrel of old. With a career stretching back to the 1960's, it's fair to say that Hurley has some thoughts about the state of music these days.
