This week's NewsDepth A+

YOU MIGHT REMEMBER LAST WEEK WE TOLD YOU ABOUT THE IDITAROD – THAT’S THE ANNUAL LONG-DISTANCE SLED DOG RACE RUN IN EARLY MARCH IN ALASKA. ONE LOCAL CLASS TOOK THIS ANNUAL RACE…AND RAN WITH IT!

THIS WEEK, OUR A PLUS GOES OUT TO MRS WORK'S 4TH GRADE CLASS AT MASON INTERMEDIATE. MRS MASON WRITES: ”OUR CLASS HAS INCORPORATED THIS RACE LARGELY IN OUR CURRICULUM THIS YEAR. WE EVEN RESEARCHED THE CHECKPOINTS ON THE TRAIL AND MADE STRING AND NAIL ART, WHICH WERE FEATURED AS CENTERPIECES AT THE MUSHER'S BANQUET BEFORE THE RACE! OUR TEACHER, MRS. WORK, LOVES THE IDITAROD SO MUCH, THAT SHE WAS A DOG HANDLER AT THE CEREMONIAL START IN ANCHORAGE THIS YEAR!”

FOR FINDING A TEACHABLE MOMENT IN MIDST OF SOME BARKING SLED DOGS, MRS. MASON’S CLASS GETS THIS WEEK’S DOGGONE GOOD A PLUS!
