LAST MONTH, WE TOLD YOU ALL ABOUT HEALTHY HEART MONTH -- A TIME OF YEAR TO FOCUS ON OUR HEARTS, AS HEART DISEASE IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH IN THE U.S. WELL, STUDENTS AT MARYLAND ELEMENTARY REALLY… WELL, TOOK IT TO HEART!
THEY PARTICIPATED IN A BASKETBALL FUNDRAISER FOR THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION. STUDENT KADIRAY (KUH DEER AH) FILLS US IN, WRITING:
“I BELIEVE THAT ALL KIDS SHOULD HAVE A HEALTHY HEART BECAUSE EVERYONE'S LIVES MATTER. AT MY SCHOOL, THE 6TH GRADERS ARE DOING "HOOPS FOR HEART.” WE HAVE RAISED $4,708 IN ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF FOR THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION. WE ARE LEARNING ABOUT BASKETBALL AND HEART HEALTH.”

ANYWAY, FOR RAISING MONEY FOR HEART HEALTH – AND STAYING ACTIVE ON THE BASKETBALL COURT, THE STUDENTS AT MARYLAND ELEMENTARY GET THIS WEEK’S HEARTTHUMPING A PLUS!
