Rhino Relocation in South Africa

In Africa, rhinoceroses are widely hunted by poachers for their tusks, which can be sold for a lot of money on the black market.

Wildlife rescue organizations have been trying to thwart the killing of rhinos, but with relatively little success. Now there's a new plan in place to move rhinos by truck to secret safe havens, far away from poachers.

Diana Magnay accompanied park rangers on their urgent task.

in that story you heard that the rhinos are getting relocated.

To relocate is to vacate one space and move into another.

But relocation isn't the only way animal activists are trying to save the rhinos. Former professional basketball player and Chinese superstar Yao Ming is part of a documentary about saving elephants and rhinos and discouraging the demand for ivory in china.

Activists hope Yao Ming and other Chinese celebrities can make it cool to save animals, rather than kill them for their tusks.
