Lightning Strikes Radar in Texas

I absolutely love thunderstorms, but I know they scare lots of people, maybe even you. Well maybe you're smarter than I am, because in Texas, we find a great example of why we're told to stay inside during storms.

Watch closely as lightning strikes this National Weather Service radar tower in Brownsville, Texas! A technician with the NWS was recording video of the storm when the bright bolt burst before him.

Unfortunately, the lightning knocked out important radar data equipment during flash flooding in the Brownsville area.
