Global Center for Health Innovations Hosts Inaugural Medical Capital Innovation Competition

Explorys, a bio-data company spun off from Cleveland Clinic research, was sold to IBM in 2015, for hundreds of millions of dollars.

The company is staying in Cleveland, in new offices - very near the clinic.

More recently, Cover My Meds, birthed in Twinsburg, sold to McKesson for more than a billion dollars.

It plans to retain its presence here and in Columbus.

Where will the next wave of high-value start-ups -- and the good-paying jobs they create -- come from?

Maybe from among the 27 teams -- 5 collegiate and 22 professional -  taking part in the inaugural Medical Capital Innovation Competition -- held today and tomorrow at the Global Center for Health Innovations, in Downtown Cleveland.
