Falls Are Leading Cause Of Death For Older Ohioans

According to the Ohio Department of Health, a senior citizen in Ohio suffers a fall at a rate of one per minute.

'Falls' are the leading cause of emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and deaths among Ohioans aged 65 and older.

Despite the prevalence, falls are 'not' a normal part of aging and experts say 'prevention' is key.

As part of raising awareness of the ways older Ohioans can minimize their risk, lots of adults will be lacing up their shoes for the '10 Million Steps to Prevent Falls' campaign.
