Chinese New Year Celebrations Enliven Cleveland This Saturday

The Chinese New Year began a week ago, but there is still plenty of time to enjoy the 15-day celebration.

This Saturday presents two opportunities for Northeast Ohioans to join in on some traditional Chinese fun -- and to help welcome the Year of the Dog.

For the first time, the Ohio China Day Celebration is in Cleveland.

Hosted by the Cleveland Contemporary Chinese Culture Association, it will be held at Cleveland Public Auditorium.

Meanwhile, Cleveland State University hosts its annual Chinese New Year Celebration in the Main Classroom Building on campus.

Twenty different acts will perform during the Cleveland State event -- check out two of them in the video above.

  • Zijie Li, Project Coordinator, Cleveland State University Confucius Institute
  • Nianfa Tang, Executive Committee Chair, 2018 Ohio China Day Celebration
