Reportedly, when Pablo Picasso was introduced to Cuban born artist Wifredo Lam he said, “you remind me of someone that I knew many years ago,” ME! The two men’s friendship lasted the rest of their lives. But Wifredo Lam never received the acclaim that Picasso did. But that’s changing. A recent retrospective of Lam’s work at the McMullen Museum at Boston College examined the artist as a global figure.
Recently, The Children’s Museum of Cleveland lost its lease to make way for a high-rise apartment. According to the Museum’s Executive Director, Maria Campanelli, it was a blessing in disguise.
