Jonathon Sawyer's James Beard Award

Earlier this month, Jonathon Sawyer, the owner of Noodle Cat, The Greenhouse Tavern and Trentina, won the biggest prize in cooking, a James Beard Award for Best Chef in the Great Lakes Region. It’s only the second time a Cleveland chef has won the award. On this round of Applause, he shares life after winning that coveted prize.

And in our ongoing series, Beyond the Dish, we stop by Jonathon Sawyer’s flagship restaurant The Greenhouse Tavern.

And the use of unmanned drones has taken off.  On this episode of Applause America an architectural photographer shows us how he’s using this technology to capture spectacular views of his home town.

The view captured by drones can be inspiring but it’s nothing like the out of this world view you get from the Geauga County District Park’s - Dark Park, which came about thanks to an amateur astronomer named Norm Oberlee.
