Good morning.  We're under a winter weather advisory until 10:00 a.m. on this Monday, Feb. 18, 2019.

It’s Presidents' Day, a federal holiday.  The official name for it is “Washington’s Birthday,” but President  George Washington's birthday comes later, on Feb. 22.  He would have been 287. Abraham Lincoln, the other president whose birthday is celebrated on this federal holiday, was born Feb. 12, 1809.  Federal, state and county employees are off for the day, as their offices are closed, but most regular folk will be at work. The RTA is operating on a regular weekday schedule.

Today’s the day when taxis, limos, Ubers and Lyfts will return to dropping off and picking up passengers at the curb outside the terminal at Cleveland Hopkins Airport.  The city had relegated them to the Ground Transportation Center at the beginning of the year, but abruptly reversed the traffic management plan due to upcoming construction there.

Portage County’s sheriff says the deputy set on fire by a suspect on Thursday is recovering and in good spiritsIn a post on Facebook, the sheriff says Sgt. Jim Acklin and his family thanks members of the community for their texts, phone calls and posts.  Acklin was burned when suspect Jay Brannon threw an ignited can of flammable liquid on him as he tried to serve Brannon with an arrest warrant.

Fire officials in Cleveland are investigating a blaze last night in an abandoned house in the Glenville neighborhood. The fire at the property near E. 99 th and Lowell Ave. caused the roof to partially collapse.

Former Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James’ team rallied from a 20-point deficit to defeat Team Giannis in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night, 178-164.  Kevin Durant scored 21 points for Team LeBron and earned his second All-Star MVP award.

On the college courts, No. 11 Michigan State beat Ohio State, 62-44, finishing the game with a 20-2 run.  The Spartans lost Nick Ward to a broken hand.

Weather forecast: You’ll need to scrape off ice on car windows this morning and take extra care driving.  Early morning snow, falling on icy surfaces, could make driving hazardous.  The precipitation should clear by 9:00 a.m. Cloudy.  High 27.  Low 15.
