The National Weather Service has issued another flood warning for Wayne County through 11:15 this morning. Authorities say flooding continues in several areas, especially Apple Creek, and several roads are impassable. A dive team had to rescue four people from Apple Creek. Parts of Wooster are also flooded but the Wayne Couty Sheriff says the Red Cross and Grace Church in Wooster are available as shelters for displaced residents.
Willoughby Hills Police say a 27-year-old Cleveland man turned himself in to authorities last night after allegedly tying up two women, stabbing them and setting them on fire. Police say Allen Crawford also took his three children, but they were unharmed and were with the suspect's parents. The two women were treated at the hospital for stab wounds and burns.
The Conneaut Fire Department and the Coast Guard say they've recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy who jumped off a breakwall into Lake Erie and did not resurface around 6 p.m. yesterday. The family has been notified but authorities have not yet identified the boy. 19 News is also reporting an ongoing search for a 23-year-old woman who went under while swimming with her husband and three children at Nickel Plate Beach in Huron.
Amazon is expected to bring 1,500 jobs to the former Rolling Acres Mall site in Akron. Construction on the 700-acre site is set to begin in September. Another shipping hub near Toledo was also announced Monday.
The Cleveland Indians beat Kansas City yesterday 5-4 to win their three-game series. Francisco Lindor hit a two-run homer but also hit a foul ball that struck a 3-year-old fan. After the game, Lindor called for more safety at ballparks. Lindor said he was told the boy was checked at the hospital and is in stable condition. The Indians start a road trip in Toronto tonight.
