Good morning, iOpeners. It's Monday, April 22, 2019.  Poles celebrate this first Monday after Easter as Dyngus Day, with polka, pierogis and other activities in the west side neighborhoods of Tremont, Ohio City and Detroit-Shoreway.

Police are investigating an early-morning shooting that has left one person dead and three others hurt in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood. Police say a man was found dead outside the Club Alma Yaucana social club on W. 25 th St. No word on the condition of those who were injured.

The one-year-old boy who died following a shooting Saturday evening in Cleveland’s Lee-Seville neighborhood has been identified.  Police say Isaiah Martin was shot inside a home on Rexwood Road. The child was taken to a hospital, where he died. Police are investigating the possibility of an accidental shooting committed by another person residing at the home. Detectives escorted a young boy and a woman from the scene Saturday evening.

Gov. Mike DeWine is asking state legislators to approve the transfer of $1.2 billion in expected budget surpluses to other accounts in order to keep his proposed budget within spending limits. DeWine wants to use most of that money, $894 million, to go toward improving water quality in Lake Erie. Transferring the surplus to other accounts would keep it from counting against the state’s annual 3.5 percent cap on growth in spending.

The Atlanta Braves pounded the Indians for a second straight night, beating the Tribe, 11-5 and taking their three-game series at Progressive Field. Atlanta’s Josh Donaldson hit a solo homer and a three-run shot in the second off Shane Bieber, who left the mound in the third inning. The Braves’ pitching shut down the Indians for 13 consecutive innings, starting in the third inning of the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
