Cleveland Council Approves $500,000 for Rock Hall Induction

Rock Hall CEO Greg Harris says the festivities will begin on the April 11 on Cleveland's lakefront.

"The museum will be free and open to the public all day long," he said. "We will have live music outside, live music outside, quite a few bands that day. And then we're going to culminate the evening with a major fireworks display at the lakefront."

Also planned for the week is a free gospel concert.

Cleveland paid $1 million in its first stint as host of the induction ceremony in 2009, and the city paid $500,000 in 2012. In the future, that expense will be taken care of with money raised by a hotel bed tax.
