Hurricane Ida has been downgraded to a tropical storm. But even though its impact has now lessened, it’s still left destruction in its wake along the Gulf Coast. 

At least one person is dead in Louisiana as a result of the storm, flooding is expected in the Mid-Atlantic region, and the Mississippi River even flowed backward.
