What does it take to prevent heart disease? It’s a question the Cleveland Clinic’s Dr. Stanley Hazen has been asking for years. Earlier this month, Hazen released new research suggesting that altering a person’s gut microbes with food or medication could help prevent heart disease.
Hazen’s research will also be featured in a new PBS documentary “In Defense of Food” scheduled to air at 9 p.m. on December, 30. ideastream’s Sarah Jane Tribble sat down with Hazen to talk about the movie and his research. We join them as the doctor explains how gut microbes can play a vital role in your health.
