There is disagreement among doctors over the best way to treat acid reflux. That's where acid from the stomach backs up into the esophagus. Heart burn can be quite painful for the 20% of the population that suffers from it regularly. In the health section of the Plain Dealerreporter Brie Zeltner writes that some doctors prefer to treat with pills, others with surgery. She spoke with ideastream®'s Eric Wellman about these two courses of treatment.
