The Cleveland Clinic is hoping to increase empathy among its physicians. Studies have shown that doctors who are more empathic are less likely to face malpractice lawsuits and more likely to have patients that comply with their treatments. Doctors who agree to participate in this pilot project will take part in reflective writing exercises. If it's successful it's a program that could be used at hospitals across the country. ideastream®'s Eric Wellman sat down with Dr. Anita Misra-Hebert who's heading up this project at the Cleveland Clinic.
