African Americans are not only the demographic most likely to develop cancer but the most likely to die from it. The National Cancer Institute has launched a program called "body and soul" that's spreading across African American churches throughout Greater Cleveland -- at least sixty so far. It's aimed at encouraging congregations to lose weight, eat more fruits and vegetables thus reducing their risk of cancer. There's evidence that the churches who embrace this program are reducing their collective waistlines. Sarah Jane Tribble's story leads the health section in today's Plain Dealer.
