The medical field is often referred to as recession proof. But proof that hospitals, like many businesses are also feeling pinched, is coming on some patient bills. A growing number of hospitals including the Cleveland Clinic are charging facilities fees as a way to generate more revenue. The Clinic has long had the fee at its main campus, but started charging the $55 fee at a number of its satellite campuses and patients are none too pleased. Diane Suchetka is following this story for the Plain Dealer. She spoke with ideastream®'s Eric Wellman.
