The Republican controlled Ohio Senate today released details of its proposed state budget and it's 650-million dollars less than the budget approved by the Democratic controlled House. A big chunk of the cuts would gut Governor Strickland's plans for major alterations in the way primary and secondary education is allocated but the Senate budget restores funding for Charter Schools that the Democrats had cut.
The action comes as the state faces a 900-million dollar budget shortfall for this current fiscal year and possibly several billion short in the next budget.
