There's a movement that's generating controversy in the healthcare community -- detoxification. It's the lead story in the health section of Tuesday's Plain Dealer. Here's the premise: Our bodies are exposed to lots of bad things: chlorine in our water, pesticides in our food, and the way to rid it from our bodies, some people believe, is to detox.
A whole slew of new products from pills to juices to infrared sauna treatments claim to get the job done, but there's very little research to support any of these treatments. Reporter Brie Zeltner spoke with ideastream®'s Eric Wellman about her reporting.
