Thailand's Condom King Speaks in Chagrin Falls

Mechai Viravaidya is Thailand's so called "Condom King." His efforts to combat Aids in his home country have ranged from conventional campaigns to educate the public to the more unusual. He's known for holding condom blowing contests for kids and for opening a restaurant chain that hands out condoms after meals instead of mints. His first name, Mechai, has actually taken on a new meaning. In Thailand, it's now slang for Condom. He's going to be speaking in Chagrin Falls tonight as part of the "Chautauqua in Chagrin" summer series and will be on Morning Edition just before 8:00AM Tuesday.
