More than 5,000 hospitals were evaluated by the magazine, which weighed reputation, death rate and care-related factors such as nursing and patient services in 16 different specialties.
Ten of the Clinic’s specialties were listed among the Top 10 in the United States, including cardiology- which, ranked first for the 14th year in a row. Ohio State University in Columbus made the top 10 in rehabilitation medicine, making it the only other Ohio hospital to outrank the Clinic in any specialty, including cancer. In previous years, Ohio State’s James Cancer Center has earned top Ohio honors for cancer care. All the clinic’s specialties placed in the nation’s top 25. UH and OSU each made the top 25 twice.
