This is the fifth year of the Medical Innovation Summit, which brings medical researchers and developers together with investors, policymakers, and media. Chris Coburn, who heads the Cleveland Clinic Innovations group, says the summit is also a good way to expose movers and shakers to the medical community in Cleveland.
Chris Coburn: if you're trying to break through someone's thinking, particularly if they live on one of the coasts, having them on site is really essential.
In addition to Larry King, others who will be on site include Governor Strickland, former Clinton Press Secretary Mike McCurry, and longtime ABC Medical Editor Tim Johnson.
This year's summit focuses on cardiovascular health. Coburn hopes the summit will help get new treatments to the market.
