It's by far the biggest turnout yet for the annual Nanotechnology Summit. This third one is held at Akron's Convention Center where the attendees are even split between academics and business people. One speaker who crossed both paths is Scott Rickert who now runs Cleveland based Nanofilm Corporation.
Nano-ize is Rickert's term for manipulating those materials at the molecular level to make them perform better. He says Ohio's advanced manufacturing companies have a head start on most of the country. State and local leaders believe nanotechnology can play a large role in Ohio's future economy.
