Hamilton and Hip Hop in the CLE

WVIZ/PBS ideastream, in a strengthened partnership with Progressive Arts Alliance, is proud to host Hamilton and Hip Hop in the CLE on Wednesday, October 12 at 6pm at the Westfield Insurance™ Studio Theatre. The event will welcome audiences into the Idea Center at Playhouse Square for a 30-minute preview screener of Great Performances' Hamilton's America, the documentary that is airing on Friday, October 21 at 9pm on WVIZ/PBS as part of the PBS Arts Fall Festival.

In addition to the screener of this highly anticipated making-of documentary, attendees will be treated to performances by members of the Progressive Arts Alliance (PAA). PAA is a cutting-edge, Cleveland-based, arts-education organization that connects teens to STEM education through the arts and technology—via hip-hop and rap songs, DJ-ing and MC-ing with turntables, and graffiti art. PAA is hosting a workshop based around Hamilton and participating teens will perform acts inspired by the groundbreaking musical.

Tickets are complimentary, but require registration via Eventbrite.

Guests are invited to join ideastream and Progressive Arts Alliance in the Gund Dance Studio after the program for a light reception.

A very special thank you to The Leonard Krieger Fund of the Cleveland Foundation for sponsoring this event.
