Students around the state are taking the new assessment linked to the Common Core standards--this is known as the PARCC.
John Charlton with the Ohio Department of Education says just because schools have called off for snow days doesn't mean they have to cram more testing into a smaller window.
"The testing window is large enough and actually has a week of make-up days kind of built into it. So most districts should not be affected however if they are affected then there is language that allows them to submit a waiver and get permission to extend that testing window," said Charlton.
The window for the second round of testing for the PARCC starts in late April and goes into early May.
