New Report: Ohioans Know Little about Education Reform Plans

The report by the Fordham Institute shows only 22 percent of the respondents in that recent survey think the state is spending enough money on education.

The poll shows support for state funded pre-school for needy children, all day kindergarten and extending the school day or school year. But pollster Steve Farkus says support for those items is greatest among Ohioans who are low income.

Farkus says these parents have different needs. He says the majority of people surveyed support charter schools and vouchers. But he says they are skeptical of virtual schools, single gender schools and for profit companies that run public schools.
