Complimentary Screening of The Pursuit: 50 Years of the Fight for LGBT Rights

ideastream presents a complimentary screening of the new documentary The Pursuit: 50 years in the Fight for LGBT Rights on Friday, Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ohio Theatre at Playhouse SquareThe Pursuit reflects on 50 years of change since protesters gathered in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia on July 4, 1965 and publicly called for an end to discrimination against homosexuals. The Pursuit presents a complex and vibrant picture, contrasting LGBT experiences past and present and demonstrating both how far the community has come and how far there is left to go.

Join us for this screening, which will be followed by a panel discussion about the film. Tickets are complimentary, but must be reserved via Playhouse Square here

The post-program discussion will be moderated by David C. Barnett of 90.3 WCPN ideastream and will feature these four panelists:

  • Greggor Mattson - Associate Professor of Sociology, Oberlin College; Chair, Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies Program
