Some 16,000 Northeast Ohio residents lost power Sunday night due to the wet and windy weather. The vast majority of those without power were in Cuyahoga County.
First Energy spokesperson Lauren Sidurkis says of the 14,500 Cuyahoga County residents who were without electricity as of 7:30 pm, most were in the east side suburb of Cleveland Heights.
Sidurkis cited downed trees from the storm as the main reason for the power outages. She said crews are on site and investigating the problems. She expected power to be restored by 10 pm.
As of 8:30, First Energy’s website showed just over 3500 Cuyahoga residents still without electricity, and more than 1300 in Summit County.
