Project Icebreaker is the name of a Lake Erie wind energy project that’s been talked about for more than a year. Organizers are moving forward with permitting and planning, and a Cleveland company is leading the charge.

Great Lakes Today's Elizabeth Miller joined WCPN All Things Considered host Tony Ganzer for an update -- including proposed safeguards for bird, bats and fish.

The Ohio Department of Energy is accepting public comment on its draft  Environmental Assessment until Oct. 10.

In November, the Ohio Power Siting Board will hold a public hearing for the proposed wind farm.  It's scheduled on Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. at Cleveland City Hall.
