Cleveland Hopkins International Airport will make upgrades to its hotel and off-site parking shuttle site. The site was originally meant to be temporary but airport officials have decided to keep it where it is.
In response to passenger complaints, the airport will add more lighting to the covered walkway between the terminal and the shuttles. They’ve added signage leading to the pickup area and additional seating for passengers waiting for transportation. There’s a screen coming that will announce shuttle arrivals. And the airport will provide free luggage carts for passengers catching flights.
The improvements are intended to make the site permanent. Hotel and off-site parking shuttles were using the lower terminal road before renovation at the terminal forced what was supposed to be a temporary move. The site is now called the Ground Transportation Center. Airport officials say moving it back to the terminal would slow traffic.
