Spotlighting the Region

ideastream has been recognized for producing in-depth features and award-winning special programs for local, national and international distribution including: “Staging Success,” the story of Playhouse Square; concerts of “The Cleveland Orchestra in Performance;” and “The Return of the Cuyahoga,” the story of the recovery of the Cuyahoga River. The community consistently expresses deep interest in these programs that provide insight and foster understanding of our region. ideastream has been restrained in pursuing more of these programs not by lack of vision, but lack of resources. ideastream Campaign for Community funding is allowing the development of content that strengthens our community by documenting history, providing a sense of place and sharing the rich resources of the region with those in Northeastern Ohio, around Ohio, and across the nation and the world such as:

  • Regular features on National Public Radio programs Morning Edition, Hear and Now and All Things Considered
  • Facing Forward, the story of a young Cleveland man’s experience in public and charter schools
  • the 100th Anniversary of the world’s first Community Foundation, The Cleveland Foundation
  • The Cleveland Orchestra in Performance, a series of performances by the world’s most popular orchestra
