Lioness Zuri is Chosen as the Pet News of the Week!

In brisk voting, WCLV listeners on Friday, Nov. 4 chose Zuri the lioness as the Pet News of the Week.  The 18-year-old lioness at the Topeka Zoo has started sprouting what has been called an "awkward teeage mane" after the pride's last male lion died. She is also snarling, growling and roaring more than before. Medical tests indicate that she is in normal health. One theory is that she might have changing hormone levels as she ages.
