WCLV listeners chose the story of Lucas, an African penguin at the San Diego Zoo. Lucas has a degenerative disease called Bumblefoot, which made walking difficult. A New Jersey-based company took an impression of Lucas's feet and created Neoprene and rubber prosthetic boots so he could walk. It was a success, and so was the Pet News of the Week vote.
