WCLV's Bill O'Connell and Quire's Artistic Director Jay White talk about the final concert of the season exploring music written for grand spaces. Northeast Ohio was settled by descendants familiar with Europe's grand architecture, so our area offers many spaces in which ancient double-choir works are at home. Quire Cleveland's Resonant Glory: Music for Grand Spaces includes music from the early 16th century through the mid-20th century including works by Brumel, Gabrieli, and Stanford. Performances are Friday May 13th at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Cleveland; Saturday May 14th at St. Noel Church, Willoughby Hills; and Sunday May 15th at St. Sebastian Church in Akron. Find more information at Quire's website. No price for admission, but a freewill offering will be accepted (suggested donation $25/person).
