Pianist Jonathan Biss will perform with the Cleveland Orchestra this Saturday evening, August 28th, with the Orchestra led by Vinay Parameswaran. Mr. Biss will perform a work written for him by Caroline Shaw called Watermark. It's one of a series of five pieces commissioned by Mr. Biss in which he asked five different composers to write music inspired one way or another by Beethoven's piano concertos. Mr. Biss talks about the commissions, and his own inspiration to become a musician. Although both of his parents are professional violinists, Mr. Biss, after a brief flirtation with the cello, chose the piano.
On-demand interviews with local and national classical music artists.
