5 Online Art Options for Halloween, Oct. 29-Nov. 2

It's that spooky time of the season when arts groups offer a variety of frightening productions, but this year many of those scary shows are going virtual. Here are five Halloween streaming opportunities from arts groups in Northeast Ohio.

Neil Zaza and Verb Ballets

Cleveland guitar wizard Neil Zaza partners with Verb Ballets on the dance of darkness, " Carnival Macabre," for the Halloween season. The cinematic, dance-rock experience reimagines classical masterpieces online starting Friday, October 30, at 7 p.m. The production remains online for 48 hours.

Radio on the Lake Theatre

Taking its cue from the iconic Alfred Hitchcock film, Radio on the Lake Theatre stages a special Zoom adaptation of Daphne DuMaurier's short story " The Birds." Staged by artistic director John Watts the production goes online Friday, October 30, at 7 p.m. (Company co-founder Caroline Breder-Watts is on staff at ideastream.)

Les Délices

The Cleveland Baroque music ensemble continues its virtual concert series with a pair of spine-tingling cantatas in the virtual program " Bewitched." Soprano Hannah DePriest portrays Circe, the sorceress, and Medea, the witch, in the Halloween production available online now through Monday, November 2.

Cleveland Public Theatre

While the annual Day of the Dead festivities "Día de Muertos" will continue this year in a socially-distanced setting, Cleveland Public Theatre is offering a virtual option for the "At Home" Altar Exhibition. The altars pay tribute to those who have recently passed in an online broadcast Saturday, October 31, at 3 p.m., on CPT's Facebook page.

Ohio Shakespeare Festival

The Akron-based Ohio Shakespeare Festival celebrates the season with the scary radio drama "The One Who Saw." Those daring enough to listen can tune in live at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, to Ohio Shakespeare Festival's Facebook page.
