The 2021-22 season of live Saturday matinee broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera continues with Rigoletto, Verdi’s powerful tragedy about a man struggling to separate the good from the evil in his life. All three stars of the broadcast have won international acclaim for their performances in this opera. Hawaiian baritone Quinn Kelsey sings the title role of the embittered jester. Maestro Daniele Rustioni leads the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus. The opera is performed in a new production by Tony Award-winning director Bartlett Sher, which will also be shown in movie theaters around the world, Live in HD.
