This album was released while Sheku Kanneh-Mason was in Cleveland for performances of Sir Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto in the Mandel Concert Hall at Severance. Here is classical music’s star duo—having performed together all over the world—presenting an impassioned programme of Barber & Rachmaninov including each composer’s Cello Sonata and a selection of beautiful songs transcribed for cello and piano. The siblings had prepared this specific program for a tour when the pandemic hit in 2020. Instead they turned to the recording studio to share their music.
