Have A Musical Instrument Gathering Dust? Nonprofit Will Take Your Donation

Cleveland held its first instrument donation drive in Jan. 2019. [Tim Dubravetz / ideastream]
A Play It Forward sign outside the Cleveland Orchestra's Severance Hall, advertises an instrument donation program.

Hungry for Music is a nonprofit organization that takes donations of musical instruments, refurbishes them and distributes them to needy music students across the country.

The effort resembles a Jan. 2019 pilot program in Cleveland in which donated instruments were refurbished for Ward 9 children in Glenville. The intention was to expand the drive in the future. The goal of Play It Forward Cleveland! was to give children the pride, the joy, and the many academic and social benefits music-making provides.
