Organizers of the Republican National Convention say they’re not planning for the event to stretch beyond the allotted four days—even if it takes multiple ballots to pick a nominee.
Jeff Larson, the CEO of the Committee on Arrangements, was among the planners to speak with Cleveland City Council on Tuesday.
“We're going to have a four-day convention in Cleveland, Ohio,” Larson said, acknowledging it may be a contested one.
Steve King, the arrangement committee chair, put it this way:
“The balloons will drop Thursday night, July 22,” he said.
The RNC is scheduled to begin July 18.
RNC host committee CEO David Gilbert said his group has raised $55.5 million so far out of the $64 million needed.
