Attorneys for ResponsibleOhio backing the constitutional amendment to legalize marijuana, say they're taking the state to court. From our Statehouse Bureau Jo Ingles explains why.
The Ballot Board has set the wording for Issue 3, the proposed amendment that establishes ten growing sites and would set regulations for pot sale and use in Ohio.
And Don McTigue, attorney for ResponsibleOhio doesn't like the ballot language.
"It's not a balanced language and we believe that the language does not fairly inform the voters of what they are being asked to vote upon," McTigue says.
But Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted - who personally opposes the amendment - disagrees.
"We took amendments from both sides and did our best to incorporate them in what we felt was a fair and impartial manner," Husted says.
ResponsibleOhio attorneys hope to file the issue with the Ohio Supreme Court, possibly as soon as the end of this week.
