U.S. EPA's clean power plan is expected next week, and each state will have will have its own part to play in reducing carbon emissions, and people for and against the plan are already lining up. From our Statehouse Bureau Andy Chow has more:
A previous draft by the U.S. EPA had Ohio cutting carbon emissions by 28% in the next 15 years.
During a rally outside of the Statehouse, Tracy Sabetta with the National Wildlife Federation said cutting carbon emissions from coal-fired plants can reduce cardio vascular disease and asthma attacks.
"This goes far beyond protecting our environment-far beyond just looking at whether it's economics-this is a public health crisis that we have an opportunity to mend," said Sabetta.
The Ohio Coal Association's Christian Palich said he hopes the EPA chooses to side with Ohio families and businesses over-what he called-"radical environmentalists."
