One Ohio Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate is coming out in favor of a marijuana legalization plan that might be before voters this fall. Ohio Public Radio's Jo Ingles reports.
After a speech at the Statehouse, Democrat P.G. Sittenfeld told reporters that he favors legalization and tight regulation of marijuana in Ohio. And he said he would vote for the ResponsibleOhio proposed constitutional amendment with 10 growing sites that a group of investors plans to put before voters this fall.
Sittenfeld's Democratic primary opponent, former Gov. Ted Strickland, has said he favors medical marijuana. But in a written statement, Strickland said he's still looking at the details of the ResponsibleOhio plan.
The Republican incumbent, Sen. Rob Portman, opposes the ResponsibleOhio plan.
