Judge Blasts Ohio Democratic Party Senate Endorsement

Ohio Supreme Court Justice William O'Neill has always been outspoken. But even so, some were surprised when he wrote a Facebook post this weekend urging fellow Democrats to leave the party immediately, after it endorsed Ted Strickland over Cincinnati City Councilman PG Sittenfeld.

O'Neill said his friend Strickland is - quote - a walking dead man, and said the party may have new leadership, but - again quoting - "the inmates are running the asylum."

The Ohio Democratic Party's Meredith Tucker says the executive committee had good reason to endorse Strickland.

Tucker: "After hearing all sides, 80% of the executive committee , which is the governing body of the Ohio Democratic Party, voted decisively to endorse Ted Strickland for U.S. Senate."

The Ohio Republican Party also put out a press release, repeating O'Neill's comments.
