A bill from Republican Representative Andy Brenner of Delaware would eliminate the PARCC, find a new assessment and cut down on testing time. The Senate created an advisory committee to review the PARCC and determine if it's still the best path for Ohio.
But Brenner says teachers, parents and students have all come out against the test and believes the state shouldn't wait to scrap it.
"I think now is the time because we've got a time crunch if we're going to do anything for the next school year we have to make the decisions as a legislative body now," said Brenner.
Brenner says the bill could be voted out of committee in the next week or two. Meanwhile that advisory committee has also started meeting.
