Ohio is among the 36 states that joined the federal government's health insurance marketplace called the exchange, rather than setting up its own exchange. But if the court rules against the subsidies, that could leave nearly 235,000 Ohioans without a way to pay for insurance. Republican House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger says options are being considered.
"I've asked that we start thinking how we work with the Governor's administration and the Senate to make sure we're prepared for that, but we'll wait to see what happens when it comes down."
Two Democratic lawmakers are ready with a bill to require the state to set up its own exchange, though few if any Republicans like that idea.
